Death byla známá americká death metalová skupina z roku 1983, je považována za jednu z nejinspirativnějších death metalových kapel vůbec. The Sound Of Perseverance je sedmé a poslední album skupiny, bylo vydáno v roce 1998. Jde o poslední album se zpěvákem Chuckem Schuldinerem. Po jeho předčasné smrti skupina ukončila svou činnost.
